ADJUMANI RDC DRAGS JOURNALISTS TO COURT OVER ZOKA FOREST REPORTS;

The embattled Resident District Commissioner Adjumani Agnes Akelo,DPC Ojokuna Peter Elayut and former NFA supervisor  Otim Joseph have finally dragged Adjumani based senior journalist Amacha Goli, Red Pepper reporter Amvesi Andrew, Red Pepper publications and Voice of the Nile FM to court for Defamation.

Through their Gulu based law firm M/S Odongo & Co Advocates the plaintiffs claim that on or about June 2016 Amacha Goli developed and sent a highly defamatory story to Amvesi Andrew a reporter of The Red Pepper Publications which story was Published in the Red Pepper of Monday the 6th day of June, 2016 entitled “Report Implicates RDC, DPC in Illegal Timber Deal”.

The RDC Agnes Akelo and co-plaintiffs further claim on Voice of the Nile Radio Station conducted a talk show about the defamatory articles and further broadcasted the same news articles on the station without inviting the plaintiffs to clarify on the issues.

The RDC Akelo and her allies are seeking for compensatory general damages and apology from all the defendants among other orders.

Amacha Goli says he has received a copy of the court summons serial number 0027 civil suit from Arua High court today but said RDC Akello and the party should know that they are all subjects of criminal investigations for the alleged mass plunder of Zoka forest and the evil spirits in Zoka will never rest without bringing the RDC Akelo and DPC Ojokuna to justice.

Tough talking Amacha Goli wondered why the RDC Agnes is shy about bringing all those who stood tall and gave visible testimonies pinning the RDC and her cohorts before four ministers at Itirikwa sub county headquarters last month.

The Red Pepper reporter Amvesi Andrew has warned the RDC and her cronies that they should wait for the lighting to strike because facts are elastic while lies are short lived. Amvesi said time has come to prove and expose the miscreant gangs in Zoka forest.

The defendants are required to file a defense in the said suit within 15 days from the date of service of summons in the manner required by the prescribed law.
